Trump Wants To Block ‘Marxists’ From Immigrating To US: REPORT

Former President Donald Trump is seeking to block “Marxists” from immigrating to the U.S., Axios reported Monday.
The U.S. hasn’t enforced a law already on the books that blocks communists from entering the country and Trump, a 2024 presidential hopeful, is seeking to change that through ideological screenings, according to Axios. Since Trump left office, illegal immigration has skyrocketed at the U.S.-Mexico border.
“For those passionate about securing our immigration system… the first 100 days of the Trump administration will be pure bliss — followed by another four years of the most hard-hitting action conceivable,” Trump adviser Stephen Miller told Axios.
In fiscal year 2022, Border Patrol recorded more that 2.2 million illegal migrant encounters, compared to roughly 1.6 million in fiscal year 2021 and roughly 600,000 in fiscal year 2020, according to federal data.
Trump’s border security and immigration plans also includes creating a maritime blockade of American and Latin American waters to stop drug smuggling, reinstituting his previous travel ban on certain Middle Eastern and African countries and designating the drug cartels as “unlawful enemy combatants,” according to Axios. Along the southern border, Trump pledges to extend a buoy barrier floating in the Rio Grande erected by Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, which the Biden administration is contesting through ongoing litigation.
In order to crack down on a surge of illegal immigration at the southern border, Trump would deport migrants gang members under a section of the 1798 Alien and Sedition Acts, complete construction of the wall, reinstate the Migrant Protection Protocols to force certain illegal migrants to await court proceedings in Mexico, and restart the Title 42 public health order to immediately expel illegal migrants, including children, according to Axios.
To ensure those seeking to come to the U.S. legally aren’t burdening the country, Trump would keep immigrants from countries with high rates of visa overstays from accessing the system and force applicants for immigration programs to show they can afford health insurance and expensive bonds to enter the country.
A spokesperson for Trump’s campaign didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
