Dover, DE—The Delaware State Police have arrested Cierra Cooper, 34, of Felton, Delaware on charges of felony DUI following a car chase that took place in Dover early Wednesday morning.

On August 30, at around 1:46 a.m., a Delaware State Trooper saw a silver Hyundai sedan veering across the double yellow line while traveling north on South State Street, just north of East Lebanon Road. The vehicle was also driving in the wrong lane. An attempt to pull the car over was made, but the driver did not comply. The pursuit continued along US-13 northbound, turning onto River Road and then onto New Castle Avenue. It concluded when the driver stopped in an alley near New Castle Avenue.

Upon approach, the trooper noticed the smell of alcohol and visible signs of impairment. Field sobriety tests were administered, leading to Cooper’s arrest. A subsequent computer check revealed two prior DUI convictions and an invalid driver’s license for Cooper. She is currently in custody.
