Woman Dies in Early Morning Jersey City Collision Involving Tractor Trailer

JERSEY CITY, NJ – A fatal collision is under investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department. A 21-year-old woman from Bloomfield was pronounced dead after an accident involving a tractor trailer and a 2018 Audi.

Jersey City Police were notified of the incident around 2:15 a.m. on September 1 in the area of the Routes 1 and 9 North ramp on Route 139 West. The Audi, found overturned and extensively damaged, was one of the vehicles involved.

Emergency Medical Services transported three people from the Audi to Jersey City Medical Center. The woman was pronounced dead at 2:54 a.m. The 22-year-old male driver from Newark and a 23-year-old male passenger, also from Newark, are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The 53-year-old driver of the tractor trailer was not injured and remained at the scene.
