Ocean City Beach and Weather Report: Rip Currents and Beautiful Weather Today

Daily Weather Report

OCEAN CITY, MD — Dangers lurk at Ocean City Beach this weekend as life-threatening rip currents and shore breaks make an appearance, according to the latest weather and water conditions report.

Rip currents pose a serious threat to swimmers. Authorities recommend that those caught in a rip current remain calm and swim parallel to the shoreline. Floating or treading water is advised if one is tired, and those unable to escape should face the shore and signal for help.

In addition to rip currents, shore break is another concern. Waves breaking directly on the beach can cause injuries. To minimize risk, individuals should keep their hands in front of them to protect their head and neck when in breaking waves.

Weather for Sunday is forecast to be sunny, with a high temperature near 84 degrees and south winds at 8 to 10 mph. The night will be mostly clear, with a low around 70 and southwest winds around 8 mph. Labor Day is also expected to be sunny, with a high near 91 and northwest winds around 7 mph. Monday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 73 and southwest winds around 6 mph.

Officials urge beachgoers to exercise extreme caution and adhere to safety guidelines while enjoying the water.
