New Jersey Beach and Weather Report: Warm Weather, Sun and Rip Currents

Daily Weather Report

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ – Alongside the moderate risk of rip currents at Seaside Heights Beach, the weather forecast remains favorable for outdoor activities.

Today’s weather is sunny with a high temperature near 81 degrees, and a south wind ranging from 5 to 10 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 72 degrees. The wind is expected to shift from southwest to west after midnight.

Labor Day is predicted to be mostly sunny, with a high temperature close to 83 degrees. The wind will start from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph, becoming southerly in the afternoon. Monday night is forecasted to be partly cloudy with a low temperature around 73 degrees and calm winds.

Beachgoers are reminded to stay vigilant due to the moderate risk of rip currents, despite the generally favorable weather.

A moderate risk of rip currents has been announced for the coastal areas of Ocean County, including Seaside Heights Beach.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ, issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook early this morning, warning beachgoers of the potential danger. The weather service advises people to swim near lifeguards and to take caution while in the water.

For those who find themselves caught in a rip current, the recommended actions are to remain calm and float, avoiding the instinct to swim against the current. If possible, swimmers should aim to move parallel to the shoreline until they are out of the current. Those unable to break free should face the shore and signal for help by waving or calling out.

The warning is in effect through tonight, with similar conditions expected to continue into Monday. Weather spotters are encouraged to report any significant conditions as they occur.
