Maryland Lottery Players Win Over $28.3 Million as Powerball and Mega Millions Jackpots Soar

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – Players across Maryland won more than $28.3 million in the week ending September 3, as the Powerball jackpot surged to $461 million and the Mega Millions jackpot reached $101 million. Three players in Maryland each won $50,000 in the Powerball, while two players in Charlotte Hall and Silver Spring each won $10,000 in Mega Millions.

The Maryland Lottery’s largest prizes for the week were $100,000 scratch-off wins in Dundalk and Hagerstown. In total, 30 Maryland Lottery tickets worth $10,000 or more were sold or redeemed during the week.

The last Powerball jackpot win occurred on July 20, with a $1.08 billion ticket sold in California. Winners of prizes exceeding $25,000 must claim their winnings at the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore, open by appointment only. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at over 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. For prizes up to $600, all Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets.
