WASHINGTON, D.C. – An 80-year-old woman known as “Happy Days” is celebrating a $50,000 win from a Lucky Times 10 scratch-off ticket.

The woman’s daughter often buys her scratch-off tickets. “Happy Days” was alone in her room when she played the Lucky Times 10 ticket and began seeing winning numbers. At first, she thought there was a mistake.

Upon double-checking with her daughter, her win was confirmed. She won the prize by matching five numbers, each worth $10,000, in the $10 game.

The win came a day after “Happy Days” received a gift in the mail that she believes brought her luck. “My boyfriend sent me some palm for my birthday,” she said.

A retired babysitter who enjoys music, “Happy Days” plans to share the prize money with her family. “I have children and grandchildren who are waiting,” she added.

The ticket was sold at Clinton Crossings Exxon, located at 8915 Woody
