HYATTSVILLE – A pitstop for pizza and tacos at a local 7-Eleven also yielded a $50,000 Powerball win for a 66-year-old Hyattsville man in the September 2 drawing.

A regular player, the construction worker purchases Powerball tickets thrice a week. He returned to 7-Eleven #37918 at 7501 Landover Road later in the week to find out he had won a third-tier prize.

“I was not surprised when I won,” he said, revealing that he has long been planning to use any winnings to purchase a work truck and start his own business.

The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Friday night with an estimated jackpot annuity of $500 million and an estimated cash option of $242.4 million.
