Newark Police Seek Dollar Store Burglary Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is asking for the public’s help in identifying a male suspect connected to a business burglary.

The incident occurred on last Sunday, at approximately 3:04 a.m. at the Dollar General Store located at 420 Springfield Avenue.

The suspect used a rock to break the automatic doors and stole various items, including body washes, soaps, and over-the-counter medications, placing them in a black garbage bag.


The estimated value of the stolen goods is between $300 and $400. The suspect is described as a White man in his late forties to early fifties, 5’8” tall, and approximately 160 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect is asked to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
