CNN Fudges Poll to Make Chris Christie the Best Candidate Against Biden

Robert Walker

A poll by CNN claims former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is the only Republican that can beat Joe Biden in 2024, but that poll is a bit off, even at first glance.

Fresh polling data from CNN indicates a near draw in a theoretical 2024 general election pitting former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie against incumbent President Joe Biden. Christie is slightly ahead with 44% compared to Biden’s 42%, a difference falling within the poll’s margin of error.

That’s where things start to seem a bit off. Christie was the lowest polling candidate among Republicans in the pool, nearly 7 points behind Nikki Haley. Yet, CNN said he has the best chance.

Also, when polling against Christie, only 42% chose Biden where he was polling at between 44%-47% against other candidates. What this poll really shows is that in a matchup between Biden and Christie, most Americans dislike both candidates and couldn’t decide between the lesser of two bad candidates.

CNN and the left-leaning media establishment want Chris Christie to run, because they all know he can’t win against Biden. They know his own state can’t stand the guy and America is slowly seeing why.

In the demographic breakdown, Christie enjoys a ten-point lead over Biden among male voters but lags behind by four points among females. The former New Jersey Governor also holds a modest four-point lead among independents.

When measured against Biden, other Republicans exhibit similar competitive strength:

  • Donald Trump: 47%, Biden: 46%
  • Nikki Haley: 49%, Biden: 43%
  • Mike Pence: 46%, Biden: 44%
  • Tim Scott: 46%, Biden: 44%
  • Vivek Ramaswamy: 45%, Biden: 46%
  • Ron DeSantis: 47%, Biden: 47%

Christie’s performance among Republican voters could be a stumbling block in his potential candidacy. In a hypothetical head-to-head with Biden among Republicans, Christie only commands a 76%-5% advantage. Additionally, 16% of Republicans state they would opt for another candidate, while 2% say they would abstain from voting altogether.

On the other side, Donald Trump leads the Republican pack with a 90% support rate, followed by DeSantis at 89%, Haley at 86%, Scott at 85%, Ramaswamy at 83%, and Pence at 81%.

Nationally, Biden faces a declining approval rate, with 58% disapproving and 35% approving, the least favorable ratings for him in CNN’s tracking. Trump’s favorability among Republicans sits at 75%-19%.

Concerns about Biden’s fitness for office are widespread. The poll reveals that 73% of Americans are worried about Biden’s current physical and mental state, and 76% question his ability to serve a full second term. Meanwhile, 67% of Democratic respondents believe their party should field a different candidate in the next presidential race, with Vice President Kamala Harris garnering a mere 1% support for the nomination.
