ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Senator Vince Polistina vehemently criticized the Biden Administration’s proposal to house migrants at Atlantic City International Airport, citing concerns about community impact and financial burdens for local residents.
Polistina expressed strong disapproval of the plan, which would move migrant overflow from New York City to the airport in Atlantic County. “Atlantic County residents shouldn’t be forced to pay the price for the Biden Administration’s disastrous handling of our border,” said Polistina. He also called on Governor Phil Murphy and US Senators Cory Booker and Robert Menendez to oppose the initiative.
Local authorities have raised concerns that the region’s school districts, infrastructure, and communities are ill-equipped to handle a large influx of migrants. They argue that the move would put undue stress on already strained resources.
