CAMBRIDGE, MD – On last Friday, at around 10:00 am, CPD Detectives were attending a court hearing involving John Jorette, a 28-year-old man.
Jorette had an active Dorchester County Arrest Warrant and was informed of this during the court proceedings. Before the proceedings concluded, Jorette fled the courtroom, assaulting a female subject and a District Court Bailiff in the process.
Jorette was apprehended after a brief foot chase and was charged with multiple counts, including Escape 2nd Degree and Assault 2nd Degree.
He was also served with an Arrest Warrant for charges stemming from an incident on August 30, involving a road rage incident and the display of a firearm.
