Singer Says Murphy COVID Nursing Home Scandal Morally Unacceptable

Robert Walker

TRENTON, NEW JERSEY – Senator Robert Singer (R-30) expressed moral outrage at the findings of the Justice Department’s investigation into State-run veterans homes and is advocating for immediate legislative action.

“As the only veteran in the Senate Republican caucus, I have a moral duty to advocate for legislation that protects our veterans,” said Singer. “The inadequate living conditions and lack of proper care in these homes is unacceptable. This issue could have been addressed earlier if not for legislative inaction, particularly by Democrats who refused to investigate these issues.”

Singer emphasized that now, in light of the DOJ report, it is imperative to hold accountable those responsible for the conditions in the veterans homes. He criticized the legislature for not taking action when Republicans had called for investigations over the past three years. “We have an obligation to correct this and ensure it does not happen again,” Singer concluded.
