KENNETT SQUARE, PA – The search for 34-year-old Danelo Cavalcante, recently convicted of murder, enters its twelfth day as law enforcement struggles to locate him. Cavalcante has managed to elude an expansive police dragnet and was seen in an area significantly removed from the initial search location.

State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens announced that Cavalcante was observed in East Pikeland Township, where he unlawfully acquired a 2020 Ford Transit van.

The fugitive attempted to communicate with an individual he used to know via a home security camera, but the resident didn’t engage.

Police defended their efforts after Calvacante evaded them during a massive manhunt saying the area where he was hiding was mired in complexities and that they were not a fault in the matter.

Soon after, Cavalcante tried to connect with another old acquaintance, this time in the Phoenixville region. Although he wasn’t successful in making contact, a local woman saw him and notified the police.

Cavalcante absconded from Chester County Prison on the last day of August by slipping between barriers and climbing over a fortified fence.

A variety of law enforcement agencies and resources, including aerial surveillance and canine units, have been mobilized in the ongoing hunt. Authorities suspect Cavalcante is desperately seeking aid as he attempts to evade capture.
