Season Over for Jets QB Aaron Rodgers

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Aaron Rodgers’ career with the New York Jets ended abruptly at his Met-Life opening day debut Monday night.

Rodgers will miss the remainder of the 2023 NFL season due to a complete tear of his left Achilles tendon.

The Jets addressed the situation on social media platform X, stating, “Not the way any of us wanted it to go, but we know the commitment you’ve made to this team will continue to impact us moving forward. Get well soon, Aaron Rodgers.”

Rodgers, a four-time Most Valuable Player, was injured during the fourth play of his debut game with the Jets on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills.

The injury happened when Rodgers was sacked by Bills rusher Leonard Floyd.

After initially attempting to stand, Rodgers was assisted off the field at MetLife Stadium and received immediate medical attention.

He was subsequently taken to the locker room and did not return to the game.
