PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD – A casual Keno player from Prince George’s County won $40,032 on September 8, simply describing his plans for the money as, “We’ll put a little something in our grandkids’ college funds.”

The 63-year-old man purchased his winning ticket at Manokeek Wine & Spirits, located at 7091 Berry Road in Accokeek, while picking up a bottle of wine for dinner. The ticket included an eight-spot bet for 20 drawings and added a Bonus multiplier, costing $40 in total. Later, just before dinner, he realized that the Bonus multiplier had quadrupled his prize.

Both the man and his wife plan to continue playing the Lottery. She will focus on Powerball and Mega Millions during high jackpots, while he will also play Keno and Pick 5.

Manokeek Wine & Spirits will receive a bonus of $400.31, 1% of the prize, for selling a winning Keno ticket worth $10,000 or more. The couple’s two grandchildren are set to benefit from this win, with funds going towards their college education.
