Hunterdon Central Secures 17-7 Win Over Bridgewater-Raritan to Remain Unbeaten

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Hunterdon Central maintained its perfect season with a 17-7 victory over Bridgewater-Raritan in Thursday’s Big Central matchup.

Hunterdon Central now boasts a 4-0 record, while Bridgewater-Raritan falls to 1-3. The game saw strong contributions from both teams, but Hunterdon Central’s Jakob Saus stood out, scoring twice on runs of 6 and 7 yards.

The game started with a 26-yard field goal by Allan Lopez-Gamez, giving Hunterdon Central an early 3-0 lead. No scoring occurred in the second quarter, maintaining the 3-0 edge for Hunterdon Central going into halftime.


In the third quarter, Jakob Saus found the end zone with a 6-yard run, and a successful kick by Lopez-Gamez extended the lead to 10-0.

Bridgewater-Raritan finally got on the board in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard touchdown pass from Jack Bray to Devin Goldberg. Joe Squicciarini’s kick made it 10-7. However, Saus sealed the win for Hunterdon Central with another touchdown run of 7 yards, followed by another Lopez-Gamez kick to bring the final score to 17-7.

While Hunterdon Central did not disclose specific player statistics, Bridgewater-Raritan’s Jack Bray completed 13 of 21 passes for 96 yards and one touchdown. Devin Goldberg led the rushing attack with 42 yards, and Joseph Locrotondo had 19 receiving yards. Logan James contributed a sack for Bridgewater-Raritan.
