TEANECK, NJ – Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Shalom Yehudiel, a business owner from Aventura, Florida, on multiple charges including sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Yehudiel was the Chef/Owner of The Humble Toast, a kosher restaurant in Teaneck, and had competed on the popular Food Network Reality Show Chopped in 2020.

The arrest is a result of a coordinated investigation between the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Chief Jason Love, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation New York Field Office, led by Assistant Director-in-Charge Michael J. Driscoll. The FBI initially contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit on November 19, 2021, regarding the alleged sexual assault of a minor.

Investigation revealed that Yehudiel sexually assaulted the child, who was 16 years old or younger, in Teaneck, NJ, on multiple occasions.

Following the investigation, a Bergen County Grand Jury indicted Yehudiel on Thursday, August 31, on charges of first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

On Monday, September 18, Yehudiel voluntarily surrendered to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, NJ. He has been remanded to Bergen County Jail and awaits his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
