Do You Know Him? Police Issue Warrant for Man Who Broke Into Dollar Store

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for John Jenkins, a 44-year-old Newark resident.

Jenkins is wanted for a burglary that took place on Sunday, September 3, at around 3:04 a.m.

The suspect used a rock to break the automatic doors of the Dollar General Store located at 420 Springfield Avenue.


He then entered the store and stole various items, including body washes, soaps, baby diapers, wipes, and over-the-counter medications, placing them into a black garbage bag. The estimated value of the stolen goods ranges from $300 to $400.

Newark Police detectives have identified Jenkins as the suspect and are actively seeking his whereabouts. Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
