Brick Police Announce High and Dry Parking Ahead of Impending Coastal Storm, Flooding

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – A looming coastal storm prompts a weather advisory from Brick Township Police Department, warning residents of expected coastal flooding, strong winds up to 50 mph, and periods of heavy rain from Friday evening into Sunday.

The advisory specifically notes that the greatest risk for coastal flooding will occur Saturday afternoon during high tide, around 2-3pm. Residents are also warned of dangerous rip currents, and beaches will not be guarded.

In preparation for the flooding, the police department advises residents in flood-prone areas to park their vehicles on higher ground. The following locations have been designated for such parking:


  • Angela Hibbard Park
  • Edmund Hibbard Park
  • Windward Beach Park
  • Midstreams School
  • The overflow parking lot in the middle of Rt. 35 across from Brick Beach III.

Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel on the roads. Those who must travel should exercise caution and plan for extra time.
