Dispute Between Hotel Room Neighbors Escalates After Woman Pulls Gun

LAUREL, MD – A dispute between occupants of separate rooms at a Travelodge escalated when one pointed a handgun at the other, resulting in the arrest of a 22-year-old female.

On September 19, at around 9:00 p.m., officers responded to the Travelodge at 3380 Laurel Fort Meade Road. An investigation revealed that Mattea Kaydell Linville, a resident of Sparks, Maryland, had allegedly pointed a loaded 22-caliber revolver at another occupant during an argument. Linville was found to be prohibited from possessing firearms and had several open arrest warrants.

Linville was taken into custody and is now facing charges related to the assault and weapons violation.
