Downtown Bridgeport Shooting Sends One to Hospital

BRIDGEPORT, CT – On Tuesday night, an incident occurred in Bridgeport, resulting in one man being shot.

A lieutenant from the Bridgeport Police Department was on patrol near West Avenue when he heard multiple gunshots around 9 p.m.

Shortly after, the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a call about a male victim who had been shot and was en route to a hospital in a private vehicle. The vehicle, riddled with bullet holes, was later found near the Bridgeport Train Station on Water Street and Fairfield Avenue.


The 33-year-old victim, a resident of Bridgeport, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso. He was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Bridgeport Police Department is actively investigating the incident and searching for the shooters.
