Fairmont Heights High School Student Charged After Bringing Loaded Gun To School

LANDOVER, MD – A 17-year-old junior at Fairmont Heights High School faces multiple charges after bringing a loaded gun onto school property, according to Prince George’s County Police Department.

The incident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m., when the School Resource Officer was informed by school security personnel that a gun had been recovered from the student.

The initial investigation revealed that a witness had tipped off administrators, suggesting the student might have illegal drugs. A subsequent search of the student resulted in the recovery of the gun and drugs. The weapon was found to have an attached machine conversion device.


The student will be charged as an adult for multiple offenses including handgun on person, dangerous weapon on school property, possession of a firearm by a minor, loaded handgun on person, machine gun for aggressive purpose, rapid-fire trigger activator violation, and possession of a controlled substance.
