Calvert County Provides Sandbags Ahead of Anticipated Severe Weather

CALVERT COUNTY, MD – In anticipation of predicted rainfall and possible flooding, Calvert County is offering sand and sandbags to residents seeking to protect their property. The sandbags will be available on Friday, Sept. 22, and Saturday, Sept. 23, at multiple locations across the county.

Residents can pick up sandbags at the following centers:

  • Appeal Convenience Center (200 Sweetwater Road, Lusby) Friday: noon to 7 p.m., Saturday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Barstow Convenience Center (350 Stafford Road, Barstow) Friday: noon to 7 p.m., Saturday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Mt. Hope Convenience Center (96 Pushaw Station Road, Sunderland) Friday: noon to 7 p.m., Saturday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

There is a limit of 20 sandbags per person.
