Fall Tourism Season Kicks Off in Monmouth County

RED BANK, NJ – Local officials and tourism partners convened at the Count Basie Center for the Arts to usher in the 2023 fall tourism season in Monmouth County.

“Despite an initially rainy summer, Monmouth County’s beach revenue numbers are showing positive results,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Division of Tourism.

Monmouth Beach Mayor David Stickle noted that summer revenue for Monmouth Beach was up, attributing it to jobs created for special police officers and beach employees. Commissioner Director Arnone added that fall offers plenty of activities, from Grown in Monmouth farms to the county’s park system.

Commissioner Ross F. Licitra, liaison to the Monmouth County Park System, highlighted upcoming park events, including the Harvest Home Festival on September 24 and Thompson Park Day on October 15.

“Our County parks are truly a year-round destination, and the fall is no exception,” said Commissioner Ross F. Licitra, liaison to the Monmouth County Park System. “The Park System has some incredible upcoming events such as the Harvest Home Festival, which will be held this coming Sunday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Historic Longstreet Farm in Holmdel; and Thompson Park Day which will be held on Sunday, Oct. 15, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Thompson Park in Lincroft. We also recently hosted the Wind and Sea Festival at Bayshore Waterfront Park in Middletown, and that event is always a crowd favorite.”

Red Bank Mayor William Portman and Count Basie Center for the Arts President and CEO Adam Philipson spoke about the range of events in Red Bank, including over 150 planned activities at the Count Basie Center for the Arts through December. Red Bank RiverCenter Executive Director Bob Zuckerman announced a new event, the Red Bank Oktoberfest, set for September 24.
