Great Pumpkin Train Offers Unique Fall Experience with Corn Maze and Mining Tours

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ – A unique seasonal experience awaits families this October as the Great Pumpkin Train introduces new stops including a Corn Maze and a tour of the Susquehanna Mining Company, all while retaining its pumpkin patch tradition.

The train journey begins at the Delaware River Railroad Excursions and takes passengers to a specialized location where the Susquehanna Mining Company and Corn Maze are set up. Each train returns via a pumpkin patch where children can pick a free pumpkin. The patch is situated in front of New Jersey’s oldest and largest lime kilns, the Carpentersville Lime Kilns, which date back to before the Revolutionary War.

Susquehanna Mining Company

This October, the Susquehanna Mining Company opens its doors for short tours that mix history and entertainment. Participants receive a basic bag of mining “rough” as a keepsake. The mining company also features an on-site store, stocked with a range of gifts and minerals.

Tickets for the mine tour are available for an $8.00 add-on to the train ticket.

The Corn Maze

The maze is designed with a Star Wars theme, featuring two separate labyrinths: the Death Star and the Mandalorian. In addition, two different games are set up in each maze. Players must find six checkpoints and mark them off on their maze maps to complete the challenge.

Tickets for the corn maze can be purchased on-site or added to the train ticket for an additional $5.00. Standard train tickets are priced at $14.00 for children and $20.00 for adults.
