Police Seek Fugitive on the Loose Who Murdered Ex-Wife in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – Columbus Police are seeking assistance in locating Jose Antonio Gomez-Santana, 49, who is wanted for the murder of his 44-year-old wife, Angel Gomez.

Officers responded to a call on September 25 in the 5700 block of Pepperwood Ct., where they found Mrs. Gomez with gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital and died shortly after arrival.

The investigation indicates that the couple had been experiencing marital difficulties and had separated for several months. Mr. Gomez-Santana reportedly lured his estranged wife to the Pepperwood Ct. address under the pretense of returning some of her property. He then ambushed her from a vehicle parked in the driveway, shooting her multiple times before fleeing.


Authorities have received information that Mr. Gomez-Santana has connections in west Columbus and New York and that friends may be assisting him in evading capture.
