New Jersey Serial Rapist Strikes Deal to Avoid Prison Time

HAMILTON, NJ – Eridson Rodriguez, who faced 20 counts including sexual assault charges, has accepted a plea deal that requires him to serve “time served.”

In September 2020, Rodriguez was initially accused by two young women of sexually assaulting them while they were incapacitated during social events at his Liberty Street home in early 2019. Detectives charged Rodriguez, 26 at the time, with four felony sex assault crimes after a year-long investigation.

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office publicized the initial charges, leading four additional women to come forward with accusations against Rodriguez. Subsequently, a judge ordered him detained pending the outcome of his case.

Prosecutors obtained a 20-count indictment in June 2021, primarily for sexual assault and criminal sexual contact. Two charges were for first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a helpless or incapacitated victim.

In February, Rodriguez accepted a plea deal on a single charge of aggravated criminal sexual contact. The agreement stipulates that he will serve 882 days behind bars, equivalent to the time he has already spent in the county jail. Rodriguez will also be subject to the state’s Megan’s Law sex offender registry and conditions of parole supervision for life.
