North Jersey Coast Line Reopens Following Collision with Car

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Regular service has been restored on the North Jersey Coast Line after an early morning incident where a train hit a vacant car on the tracks.

The interruption affected the morning travel between Bay Head and Long Branch. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. Monday at the Cedar Avenue intersection in Long Branch involving a train en route to Penn Station.

Officials verified that the car was unoccupied when the train made contact, and all 50 passengers on the train were unharmed.
