REHOBOTH BEACH, DE – Delaware State Police arrested Roy Brown, 61, of Millsboro, Delaware, for his 7th offense of driving under the influence (DUI) after a traffic stop on Sunday evening. The incident took place on Coastal Highway south of Postal Lane.

Around 9:55 p.m., a state trooper observed Brown’s maroon Saturn SUV swerving between lanes and changing speeds. Brown made an abrupt right turn without using a signal. Upon stopping the vehicle, the trooper detected signs of impairment. Brown was taken into custody after partially completing a Standardized Field Sobriety Test.

A computer check revealed a court order, stemming from a previous DUI, that prohibited him from driving, as well as multiple prior DUI convictions.

Brown was taken to Troop 7 and charged with 7th Offense DUI, a felony, Noncompliance with Bond Conditions, also a felony, and additional traffic offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $22,600 cash bond.
