TINTON FALLS, NJ – A recent study by Leafwell has identified Tinton Falls as the most health-conscious city in New Jersey based on the frequency of health-related Google searches.

The study analyzed search data from 109 regions, towns, and cities across the state. Researchers used 305 search terms related to healthy lifestyles, including queries like “how to be healthy” and “best way to lose belly fat.”

Tinton Falls led the pack with an average of 2,911 health-related searches per month per 10,000 people, totaling 5,665 searches over the past year. The top two search terms for the city were “gym near me” and “healthy food near me.”

Following closely was Freehold, recording an average monthly search volume of 1,980 per 10,000 people, with a total average of 2,475 searches over the past 12 months. Westwood took the third position with an average monthly search volume of 1,879 per 10,000 people and a total of 2,102 searches in the past year.

Burlington and Woodbury secured the fourth and fifth positions with 1,831 and 1,595 average monthly searches per 10,000 people, respectively.

The cities rounding out the top ten include Red Bank, Woodland Park, Hackettstown, Ridgefield, and Ocean City.

On the opposite end, Union City ranked as the least interested in health-related topics with just 269 average monthly searches per 10,000 people, totaling 1,757 searches over the past 12 months. Newark was the second lowest, with 341 average monthly searches per 10,000 people.

The study offers a glimpse into the health priorities of New Jersey residents, with search behavior serving as an indicator of public interest in healthy living.
