MANOR TOWNSHIP, PA – Last Friday saw Paul Woolery, 52, sentenced to 27 ½ to 55 years in state prison following a jury finding him guilty of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old in 2014.
The incident comes as Woolery’s second-strike offense, escalating the mandatory minimum sentence.
The verdict followed a turbulent trial, wherein several character witnesses came forward in defense of Woolery, who consistently maintained his innocence.
Yet, the jury convicted him on several counts, including aggravated indecent assault of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, and corruption of minors.
During sentencing, Lancaster County Judge Jeffrey Wright spotlighted the substantial impact on the young victim’s life, underscoring the gravity of the convictions.
