Philadelphia, PA – Police in Philadelphia were seen confiscating an illegal ATV in the city in a recently posted video on social media. The incident came in light of the arrest of a man who attacked a woman in front of her children after she collided with an illegal rider in the city this week.

It comes a day after the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office Gun Violence Task Force, in collaboration with the Philadelphia Police Department, filed charges against 26-year-old motorcyclist Cody Heron. The charges are linked to an assault incident near City Hall involving a mother and her two children.

A post by Fox29’s Steve Keely noted that the department is unloading trailers full of the illegal vehicles, joking, the impound yard is running out of space.

The department responded by saying, “We’ll find the space…”

Heron, who was apprehended in the Frankford section of Philadelphia, faces charges that include Possession of an Instrument of Crime, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and multiple counts of Aggravated Assault. The event caught wide attention due to a video showing Heron colliding with the complainant’s car while he was with a group of motorcyclists in Center City.

Following the collision, Heron is seen attacking the victim’s vehicle, leading to shattered glass injuring her two children. During the confrontation with the mother, a firearm falls from Heron’s waistband, which he later uses to threaten her. He also physically assaulted her before escaping.

Assistant District Attorney William Fritze appreciated the swift actions of the Philadelphia Police Department and emphasized the severity of Heron’s actions in Center City. Fritze expressed the Task Force’s commitment to ensure Heron faces the legal consequences for his actions.

Interim Police Commissioner John Stanford recognized the importance of public assistance in capturing Heron and praised the collaboration with the District Attorney’s Office. He underscored the significance of maintaining law and order in Philadelphia and expressed hope that such charges would deter potential wrongdoers.
