ARNOLD, PA – Pennsylvania State Police and the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office have charged Andrew Bischof, 21, in relation to a series of arsons.

Bischof, an Arnold firefighter at the time, was taken into custody on Wednesday evening.

Investigations indicate that between September 30 and last Sunday, Bischof intentionally started four fires in New Kensington and Arnold.

He faces charges including arson, causing or risking catastrophe, and criminal trespass, among others.

During one of these incidents, the back deck of a house collapsed, injuring a firefighter. It’s been reported that after starting one of the fires, Bischof returned to the scene with the Arnold Volunteer Fire Department.
