Charles County HR Worker Wins $100k on Scratch Off Lottery Ticket

Indian Head, MD – Taking her chances on high-priced scratch-offs, a 65-year-old Charles County woman, aptly nicknamed “Uno,” has claimed the first $100,000 top prize on the $30 $100,000 Ca$h scratch-off game.

The retired human resources specialist, who gravitates towards the $20 and $30 games, stated her rationale: “I figure if I win, I really want to win something substantial.” Her strategy paid off when she purchased a ticket from Pisgah General Store in Indian Head. After scratching only the prize check area, she scanned the ticket, revealing her whopping win of $100,000.

In disbelief, she sought confirmation from the store’s manager and then rushed home to share the news with her husband, who accompanied her to the Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim their prize.

Now, with the sizable win in their pocket, “Uno” plans to clear off her car loan and save a significant portion to ensure her family’s future security.

Adding to the jubilation, the Pisgah General Store at 7015 Poorhouse Road in Indian Head is set to receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery, recognizing its role in “Uno’s” remarkable win.

For others hoping to replicate “Uno’s” success, the $100,000 Ca$h scratch-off game, launched just last month, still holds promise. Out of the initial 65 top prizes, 63 remain unclaimed. Additionally, the game offers 38 $5,000 prizes and numerous others ranging from $30 to $500.
