WESTCHESTER, NY – A deputy chief investigator from the Westchester District Attorney’s Office is among a 32-member delegation from New York that embarked on a trip to Israel on October 5 for specialized training on counterterrorism and antisemitism.

District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah confirmed that this group, which includes six law enforcement leaders from Westchester County, is currently near the Gaza Strip.

Despite the turbulent situation in the region, the delegation is in a secure location. Communication has been established with the Deputy Chief, ensuring that measures are in place for the group’s safe return to New York.

While expressing deep concern and emotions regarding the ongoing crisis in Israel, District Attorney Rocah also conveyed her relief and gratitude for the well-being of the delegation.

She noted that despite the team’s initial intention to stay for the full week of training, their safety remains a top priority.
