BALTIMORE, MD (Oct. 10) – A regular player from northern Baltimore County, who has been participating in Lottery games since the Maryland Lottery’s inception in 1973, recently secured his first significant win of $50,000 in the Oct. 4 Bonus Match 5 drawing.

The retired government worker, who fondly recalls purchasing Lottery tickets for his grandfather in the past, learned of his good fortune on Oct. 5 at the Margate BP in Lutherville. A discussion between the store’s clerk and patrons revealed that a $50,000 Bonus Match 5 ticket was sold there the previous evening.

The 75-year-old initially dismissed the chatter but later contemplated the possibility that he could be the fortunate ticket holder, having made a purchase there for that specific drawing. Upon checking, he confirmed he was indeed the lucky winner.

Looking ahead, the man and his wife intend to invest the prize money in a new HVAC system for their home and a well-deserved vacation. A dedicated San Francisco 49ers fan, he also aspires to get a custom-made jersey of his preferred NFL team.

Furthermore, the Margate BP at 1601 York Road in Baltimore County is set to receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
