EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ – On October 4, Rebecca Halbach and Brandon Leconey were once again charged in relation to a significant animal cruelty and neglect investigation at 680 E. Main Street.

The arrests came after uncovering that Halbach, aided by Leconey, falsely represented herself as an employee of a local animal rescue, misleadingly handling adoptions and animal care.

Though she had no official ties to the animal rescue, Halbach managed to collect over $7,000 from her deceitful activities.

Evesham Detectives are delving deeper into potential computer and electronic crimes committed by the duo while Halbach impersonated an employee for multiple animal rescues. Additional charges are expected to arise from these findings. Both individuals are currently being held at the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, awaiting their first Superior Court appearance.

During the course of the investigation, a burglary was detected at 680 E. Main Street, carried out while Halbach and Leconey were behind bars. The prime suspect, Kelli Bowen, was quickly identified by detectives. Upon searching Bowen’s residence in W. Berlin, NJ, evidence corroborating the burglary and theft was found. Bowen has been charged with Burglary, Theft, and Trespassing. She was released on a summons and is also pending a first Superior Court appearance.
