TRENTON, NJ – Thousands of New Jerseyans have family members trapped in Israel. Many are trying to arrange their loved-ones safe passage out of the country, which is now officially at war with Hamas.

The problem is, that commercial flights are hard to come by and more carriers worldwide are canceling flights.

Following a weekend attack by Hamas militants on Israel, numerous international airlines have suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv.

Royal Air Maroc, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Air Canada are among the airlines that halted their operations. Hainan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Air Astana, and Azerbaijan Airlines also announced suspensions from various Asian cities.

In Europe, Lufthansa Group, Ryanair, easyJet, Air France KLM, Transavia France, Norwegian Air, Finnair, Wizz Air, TAP, Iberia, Vueling, British Airways, Air Europa, ITA, Aegean Airlines, Bulgaria Air, Air Malta, Icelandair, Virgin Atlantic, and LOT all made similar announcements.

From the Middle East, Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, and Gulf Air have modified their flight schedules or suspended services to Tel Aviv.

The decisions come in the wake of heightened security concerns in the region.
