Victim Beaten with Baseball Bat, Pipe in Fake Jewelry Sale Robbery

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is seeking assistance in identifying two individuals connected to a robbery and assault incident that took place on Tuesday, October 3, at approximately 4:15 p.m.

The event unfolded at the intersection of 49 Street and 5 Avenue, where two unknown males attempted to sell jewelry to a 33-year-old male victim.

Upon the victim presenting $300, the individuals seized the cash and proceeded to physically assault him. The victim was punched and kicked multiple times, and was also struck with a metal object and a baseball bat.


Following the assault, the perpetrators fled the scene on foot, heading in an unknown direction. The victim sustained a laceration to the head, pain throughout the body, and bruising to his left leg, and was transported by EMS to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in stable condition.

The first individual sought for questioning was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, dark-colored jeans, and white sneakers. The second individual was last seen wearing a white tank top, white shorts, and black sneakers. The NYPD is asking anyone with information related to this incident to come forward.
