US House speaker vote to be held Tuesday at noon – Democratic Rep. Clark

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. House of Representatives will vote to choose a new speaker on Tuesday at approximately 12:00 p.m. (1600 GMT), No. 2 House Democrat Katherine Clark said on Sunday.

Representative Jim Jordan won the Republican nomination to lead the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday, but the hardline conservative appeared to be well short of the support he would need to seize the speaker’s gavel.
