15-Year-Old Charged as Adult in Shooting of 12-Year-Old

BALTIMORE, MD – Baltimore police have arrested a 15-year-old male suspect in connection with a shooting incident that took place on September 1, 2023, in the Central District. The teenager is accused of shooting a 12-year-old male victim on the 1100 block of Wilmot Court.

Detectives secured an arrest warrant for the suspect after establishing his involvement in the shooting. According to the original press release from the authorities, “Investigators obtained an arrest warrant after learning that the 15-year-old suspect shot a 12-year-old male victim while in the 1100 block of Wilmot Court.”

The suspect was already in custody at the Baltimore City Juvenile Center for unrelated handgun charges at the time of his arrest for the shooting. On October 3rd, he was transferred to the Central Booking Intake Facility and has been charged as an adult with attempted 1st-degree murder. He is currently being held without bail.


On the evening of September 1, police officers were patrolling the 1100 block of East Madison Street when they heard gunshots. They immediately located the 12-year-old male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics were dispatched to the scene and transported the young victim to a local hospital, where he is now reported to be in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected as more details emerge.
