Crossing Guard Injured Near Great Bridge High School

CHESAPEAKE, MD – The Chesapeake Police Department is investigating an accident involving a crossing guard at Great Bridge High School that occurred on October 16, 2023, at 8:26 a.m. The crossing guard was hit by a passenger vehicle while she began to walk into the street near the school’s entrance.

According to the police department, the vehicle was exiting the campus when the incident occurred. The crossing guard sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to a local hospital for further treatment. “The adult driver remained on the scene and was issued a summons for 46.2-834 (Signals by Law Enforcement Officer, Crossing Guard, and Flaggers),” said the Chesapeake Police Department in a Facebook post.
