LANCASTER COUNTY, PA – On Monday morning, Lancaster County Judge Thomas Sponaugle sentenced Larry Rapp, 64, of Marietta to 5 to 10 years in prison following his guilty plea.

The charges stemmed from an incident on Dec. 3, 2022, where Rapp, while intoxicated, crashed his vehicle, resulting in the death of his 41-year-old son, Chad Rapp.

The crash on Prospect Road showed no signs of evasive action before the vehicle struck multiple trees.

Investigations found Rapp’s blood-alcohol content to be nearly three times over the legal limit, with traces of cocaine and THC also detected.

The defendant acknowledged his actions on the night of the accident, admitting to substance consumption and knowledge of the road.
