BEIRUT, LEBANON – Protesters from across Lebanon amassed at the embassies of the United States, throwing rocks and other projectiles as security forces outside the gates.

The action comes as the U.S. moves two carrier groups into the Mediterranean Sea and after an Israeli rocket struck a West Bank hospital, allegedly killing 500 people.

A fire was seen in a building near the embassy compound. The U.S. State Department has not confirmed the incident and at this time, the validity of the information is unknown.

Protesters shouted outside the embassy, hurling rocks and shouting at police and embassy officials. At the U.S. embassy protesters climb the wall and raised a Palestinian flag at the embassy gate.
