Arrest Made in Gambrills M&T Bank Robbery

GAMBRILLS, MD – An arrest has been made in connection to the M&T Bank robbery that occurred on October 10 in Gambrills, Maryland. According to a press release, the Western District Police responded to the incident at 2637 Brandermill Boulevard at approximately 9:50 a.m. On that day, the suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.

The teller complied, and the suspect walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was observed during the robbery.

The suspect was initially described as a Black male with a heavy build, a black and gray beard, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white facemask, dark hat, sunglasses, and gloves. Investigators diligently worked on leads, canvassing the area immediately after the incident but were unable to locate the suspect at that time.


On October 18, the police updated the case with the arrest of Brandon Corey Owens, 47, of Baltimore.

“Through investigative means, detectives identified a suspect in this incident,” the press release stated.

Owens is now charged in connection with the M&T Bank robbery. Detectives executed a search warrant on October 16 at Owens’ residence, located at the 1900 block of Chelsea Road in Baltimore, where he was taken into custody without incident.

This arrest comes as law enforcement agencies ramp up efforts to curb bank robberies, emphasizing the importance of community vigilance and quick, effective police work. The case against Brandon Corey Owens is ongoing.
