Capitol Police Tell U.S. Lawmakers ‘Stay Inside’ Ahead of Planned D.C. Palestinian Protest

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In response to anticipated Pro-Palestinian protests and intelligence suggesting members of Congress could be targeted, Capitol Police have erected bike racks and advised lawmakers to stay indoors.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed the information via a tweet, stating, “Last night Cap Police put up bike racks bc of expected Pro Palestinian protest today and Intel that members of congress will be targeted.”

Greene also noted that officials instructed Congress members to “stay inside and only use the underground tunnels” as a security measure. The Capitol Police have yet to confirm the details publicly but are expected to be on heightened alert for the duration of the protests.

The Congresswoman further claimed that these precautionary actions indicate that the “Biden admin wants to go to war,” although no supporting evidence was provided to substantiate this assertion. It remains unclear how these security measures relate to the Biden administration’s foreign or domestic policies.
