Police Investigate Kidnapping Incident Involving 13-Year-Old Girl in Germantown

Gaithersburg, MD — The Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) is actively investigating a reported kidnapping that took place on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. The victim, a 13-year-old girl, claims she was abducted near the intersection of Waring Station Road and Stoney Bottom Road in Germantown, Maryland.

According to the police department’s preliminary information, “the girl reported that between 3 – 3:15 p.m., she was approached by two male suspects in a dark grey sedan.” The suspects, described as one Hispanic male and one Black male, allegedly forced the girl into their vehicle.

The victim managed to escape and was later found in the area of the 20000 block of Placid Lake Terrace.


“After driving around, the victim was able to get out of the car and run near the area,” stated the press release. Montgomery County Fire Rescue subsequently transported her to a local hospital for evaluation.

This investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with relevant information or who observed suspicious activity in the area to contact SVID detectives at 240-773-5400.
