DETROIT, MI — Samantha Woll, board president of Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, was found stabbed to death outside her residence on Saturday morning. Her death coincides with an uptick in threats nationwide during the ongoing Israeli-Hamas conflict, although police have yet to determine a motive.

Detroit police responded to a 911 call early Saturday in the 1300 block of Joliet Place, finding an unresponsive individual lying on the ground. Authorities identified the individual as Woll and confirmed multiple stab wounds, declaring her dead at the scene. A trail of blood led investigators to believe that Woll was killed at her residence. Further details have yet to be released.

Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue issued a statement on Facebook. “We are shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, our board president,” the synagogue announced. “At this point, we do not have more information but will share more when it becomes available. May her memory be a blessing.”

Police have not provided extensive details surrounding the incident and continue their investigation.
