TRENTON, NJ – If you’re going trick or treating in New Jersey on Halloween, consider this a spoiler. Expect your bag to be full mostly of three different types of candies. Those candies come as no surprise as they are pretty much New Jersey’s year-round favorites.

As Halloween spirits soar in New Jersey, so did the sales of certain candy favorites among residents. This year, Snickers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and M&Ms have emerged as the triumvirate of sweet delights most distributed to trick-or-treaters.

The data, collected from various local retail outlets, showcased a distinct preference for these classic candies. Snickers took the lead, with its nougat, caramel, and nut concoction appealing to the sweet tooths of many.

Following closely were Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, a perennial favorite, and M&Ms, whose colorful appeal seemed to resonate with the young and old alike.

The sales spike experienced by local stores underscored the economic activity driven by Halloween candy purchases, enriching the local economy and adding a sweet note to the seasonal festivities.

As the candy wrappers settle post-Halloween, the Garden State’s choice of treats paints a picture of adherence to classic flavors and a sweet continuation of Halloween traditions.

Safety remains paramount; hence parents are advised to inspect all collected candies for intact packaging before allowing children to indulge, ensuring a safe and happy Halloween celebration.

While we haven’t checked the official data on the worst treats in New Jersey, we can safely assume Circus Peanuts and candy corn are on that list.
